France to provide latest technology to Pak Army to combat terrorism
Director International Development of DGA, (France Armament Procurement Agency) Jacques De Lajugie, visited General Headquarters on Wednesday and called on the Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
According to spokesperson of Pakistan Army, the visiting dignitary remained with COAS for some time and discussed matters of mutual interest. According to military sources, the meeting discussed ambit of issues pertaining to enhance bilateral military and defence cooperation. According to sources, France would provide latest technology to Pakistan and to ensure speedy implementation of defense and military agreements inked between the two countries.
Sources further told that the meeting discussed overall situation of the region, situation in Afghanistan and Pak-France cooperation in war on terror. Director International Development of DGA, Jacques De Lajugie lauded the role and sacrifices rendered by Pakistan Army in war on terror. He said that his country valued efforts carried out by the Pakistani Government and Armed Forces in bringing peace and stablitiy in the region.

Apple computers topped sales for the mobile PC market last quarter, according to a new report from the market research company DisplaySearch. Apple shipped more than 13.6 million units, which translates to just over 21 percent of the mobile PC market. The computing giant retook the top spot from HP, which sold about 9.7 million units to take second place with 15 percent of the mobile PC market.
Before the Apple adherents among you celebrate too much, keep in mind that included in Apple’s mobile sales are the more than 10 million iPads the company shipped last quarter. The iPad accounts for more than 80 percent of Apple’s mobile computing sales. In fact, DisplaySearch credits the Tablet PC market in general with invigorating mobile sales in general. Tablet sales grew at the absurd rate of 400 percent over last year. Most of that growth naturally comes from Apple’s tablet since the 
If you limit the market to traditional laptop PCs, then Apple’s market share erodes almost completely. However, the report also notes that laptop PC sales in general have fallen for the second quarter in a row. DisplaySearch credits that drop, at least partially, to tablet sales, which have started to erode the laptop market. So not only is the iPad now the best-selling mobile PC on the market, it has begun to effect sales of more traditional laptop PCs.

Paksat-1R

Paksat-1R is again proved China partnership with Pakistan
Launches new satellite 11, August 2011.
 Our Friend China has launched a domestic communications satellite for Pakistan SUPARCO (Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission) at 4:15 pm on August 11 from the Xi Chang Satellite Launch Center, in Sichuan Province. The launch of Paksat-1R was conducted by the Long March 3B/E launch vehicle.
The Paksat-1R satellite is launched on the DFH-4 platform, with a launch mass around 5,200 kg. Satellite will be positioned at 38.0 degrees East, replacing the Paksat-1, which was launched as Palapa-C on January 31, 1996, by an Atlas-IIAS from Cape Canaveral’s LC-36B launch complex.The  Paksat-1R was manufactured by the China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) after being ordered in October 15th, 2008  with a contract signed with the China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC). PakSat-1R contract was the third communications satellite contract signed by China’s space industry with international customers. PakSat-1R also China’s first satellite in-orbit delivery contract signed with an Asian customer. Satellite will support all conventional and modern Fixed Satellite Service (FSS) applications, with a total of as many as 30 transponders 18 in Ku- and 12 in C-band. To ensure high degree of reliability/availability of the system, two fully redundant Satellite Ground Control Stations (SGCS) were established in Karachi and Lahore, one to act as the Main and the other as Backup respectively.

Rajendra Radar 
Rajendra Multi Function  array radar system the designed at the Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE)  part of DRDO is currently in production at Bharat Electronics Limited. India's First president Dr. Rajendra Prasad this was on his name.

LRDE is working on the Rajendra III radar for the Indian Army. Rajendra III is a slewable phased array radar based on the T-72 chassis. As of 2007, the BLR-III vehicle on T-72 chasis was ready for a track test. Phased array antenna is fabricated at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Ghaziabad. The Collimated beam pattern and s/s cure for all 16 spot frequencies has been taken.

 The current orders for the Rajendra and its derivatives are at least 32 units, considering the order for 2 Squadrons of the Akash system by the Indian Air force and the indent for 28 Weapon Locating Radars by the Indian Army.
The Indian Doppler Radar (INDRA) series of 2D radars were developed by India's DRDO for the Army and Air Force. The INDRA-I is a is a mobile surveillance radar for low level target detection while the INDRA-II is for ground controlled interception of targets.

INDRA-I is a 2D mobile surveillance radar for low level target detection. The radar is housed in two wheeled vehicles. Some of the main features are automated Track While Scan (TWS), integrated IFF and high scan rate for high speed target detection. The radar is produced by Bharat Electronics Limited and inducted into service. The INDRA-I was a landmark project for the DRDO, as it was the first large radar system designed by the organization and produced in number for the defence forces. The Indian Air Force operates thirty INDRA-I's whereas the Indian Army also has several.
INDRA-II

It is a variant of INDRA radar for ground controlled interception of targets. The radar uses pulse compression for detection of low flying aircraft in heavy ground clutter with high range resolution and ECCM capabilities. The radar has been produced by Bharat Electronics Limited and is used by Indian Air Force and Army. Seven INDRA-IIs have been ordered by the Indian Air Force.


Aerostat Radar
India has recently acquired Aerostat radars. The entire system is divided in major parts. Firstly, the aerostat balloon which has been acquired from Israel and second part is the payload on board the balloon which consists, advanced programmable radar (APR), Electronic Intelligence (ELINT), Communication Intelligence (COMINT) and V/UHF radio telephony equipment and Identification Friend or Foe (IFF). It has the capability to be integrated with AWACS and ground air defence environment and funtion as a command and control centre. Depending upon the payload the theethered balloon can be raised to the height between 10000 feet to 16000 feet.

The system gives a seamless radar cover of 300 km plus at low level along with good RT range and requisite ELINT. The system could be termed as static AWACS. Off course it comes with some vulnerabilities and limitations, like weather, wind speeds, lightning & thunder, launch & recovery periods are vulnerabilities. Its virtues also make it a prime target for enemy therfore it needs to be protected by exclusive air defence weapons. But we hope that the advantages of such system would outlast the limitations.

Sword Fish Radar
Swordfish is an Indian Long range tracking radar specifically developed to counter ballistic missile threat. It will be a part of India's ballistic missile program. First testing of this radar was in March 2009. Main aim of the test was to validate the capabilities of the indigenously developed Swordfish Long Range Tracking Radar (LRTR). "The missile to be hit will be fired from a longer distance than it was in the earlier test. DRDO tested whether the radar could track the incoming missile from that distance or not" said a member of the project.

Swordfish is an acknowledged derivative of the Israeli Green Pine long range radar, which is the critical
component of that country's Arrow missile defence system. [1] However, it differs from the Israeli system as it employs Indian Transmit Receive modules, signal processing, computers and power supplies. It is also more powerful than the base Green Pine system and was developed to meet India's specific BMD needs.

The U.S Nuclear Regulatory Commission has announced it will launch a comprehensive  safety review of the 104 nuclear power reactors across the United States.
  For all 17 projects, applications for combined construction and operating licenses have been submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’ boxed information for each project provides the plant name, the city and state of the site, the reactor model and  owner.
